As we share stories of inspiring success and passion in the culinary world, few glow as brightly as the journey of ACI graduate, Sergio Pinon, who has been making waves as the general manager and bar program director of Tucson’s vibrant Redbird Scratch Kitchen + Bar.
With a heartfelt philosophy of creating food with love and providing warm hospitality, Sergio and his team redefine the dining experience. This upscale yet relaxed restaurant, located amidst the picturesque vistas of Tucson, prides itself on their commitment to quality and service. In every dish, whether it’s their signature crispy Nashville-Arizona chicken or the soul-satisfying “Die in Your Sleep” 3×3 Burger, they honor the locality by using high-quality ingredients sourced mostly from local farms and vendors. It is this fusion of love, quality, and community that truly sets Redbird apart.
What makes Redbird’s culinary journey so intriguing is its ingenious attempts to bridge the gap between sports bar, upscale-casual, and family restaurants. This unique approach caught our attention because it reflects the inventive and transformative spirit that we instill in our students at the Arizona Culinary Institute.
Sergio’s journey with us at Arizona Culinary Institute, leading to his now thriving career, is a testament to the transformative power of culinary education. We foster these dreams and encourage culinary creativity, equipping our students with skills to enhance their culinary visions and turn them into reality.
Despite being a first-time business owner, Sergio exemplifies resilience and a relentless pursuit for excellence, pushing boundaries while staying true to the core values of warm hospitality and quality service that we uphold here at ACI.
We feel immense pride as we see ACI graduates like Sergio excel and revolutionize the culinary landscape. We hope his story inspires future chefs to turn their passion for food into a career that blends creativity with love for the community.
